During the Launch of LadyLabs Innovation Hub, we had in our midst the former Minister of Education – Obiageli Ezekwesili. She had a Question and Answer Session with the Chibok girls.
Present at the occasion were also Ty Bello and the US Consular General. Picture Speaks:
It was a well attended event and our girls were inspired by the presence of these notable women.
Sharon Okpoe, one of the tech stars at Girls Coding made a pitch on how she intends using technology to solve the problem of food insecurity in her community. There she is in the warm embrace of Mummy Oby Ezekwesili.
The GirlsCoding Summer camp kicked off in August, 2017 with 50 girls and in partnership with Union Bank Nigeria. For a period of 3 weeks, girls from Chibok community in Borno State and Makoko Community in Lagos were camped and taught all about Front End web development.
The girls worked in groups and were able to build different websites from scratch. They used the knowledge gained to build websites about awareness on looming socio-cultural issues and likely solutions in the Nigerian society.
